Greene County closes out its home portion of the high school wrestling schedule tonight by hosting Nevada in Heart of Iowa Activities Conference action inside the middle school gym in Jefferson. Coach Mark Sawhill’s Rams are 4-8 overall and 0-3 in the conference while the Cubs are 1-5 overall and 1-2 in HOIAC action.
The meet begins at six p.m. and its also Senior Night for the Rams. Fans are reminded to get to the gym early because the action is likely to move along quickly because of falls and forfeits. Greene County could fill as many as 12 of the 14 weight classes with Nevada expected to fill no more than nine weight classes, and they aren’t likely to be very many JV matches.
Ram senior Abe Yoder will be looking to pick up career win number 99, and fellow senior Jordan Challen will try and climb up the program’s all-time victory list. He currently sits at number 10 with 116 career victories.
