There’s an option for lunch in Stuart that many may not know they’re able to take advantage of. Stuart’s congregate meals program has traditionally been aimed at serving elderly members of the community, but site manager Bob Cook encourages anyone to enjoy an affordable meal cooked from scratch. “We don’t want to cost the restaurant industry anything, but we sure would love other citizens to show up and socialize with the regulars. I think it would add a lot to it.”

Cook is new on the job and says he looks forward to expanding the congregate meals program to include all sorts of lunchtime entertainment. Meals are served each weekday at 11:30 a.m. at Stuart’s United Methodist Church. The menu is announced daily on Raccoon Valley Radio.
