Though tornado warnings were issued for portions of Dallas County Wednesday evening, Emergency Management Coordinator Barry Halling says it is the amount of rain received that is proving to be the biggest concern.

Halling tells Raccoon Valley Radio current estimates show the North Raccoon River will crest at 22 feet, the third highest in history.

“At this point I feel very certain that there will be water over the road on Highway 169 north of Adel, and it may get to the point of being closed.”

With more rain in the forecast for tonight and tomorrow, Halling says things may not improve very soon.
