North Raccoon River

Area streams and rivers have crested and are now starting to recede to more normal levels after massive amounts of rain this week. According to the United States Army Corps of Engineers, as of 6 a.m. Saturday, just two of our local reporting areas still remain above flood stage. The North Raccoon River near Perry has dropped over two feet in the past 24 hours and is now just an inch over its flood stage level of 15 feet. The Middle Raccoon River near Bayard has dropped about three and a half feet in the past 24 hours but still has over five feet to go before it drops below the flood stage level of 14 feet. Flood warnings remain in effect until Sunday morning. Stay tuned to the Raccoon Valley Radio Network for all of your weather related updates.
