Tonight the largest ensemble Perry Fine Arts has ever brought to town will put on a show in the Perry Performing Arts Center.
The Iowa State University symphony orchestra will perform three different selections ranging from a classical piece to a movie soundtrack compilation.
Perry Fine Arts promoter Duane Griffin explains how they are able to offer these concerts free of charge.
“We don’t have tickets or anything, you just come. If you don’t want to pay anything you don’t have to but if you want to make a donation we would appreciate it. At the table when you come in we have people who will take donations from you if you wish. We have a patron list and it’s slowly growing over the years. So we have people who will donate in the beginning of the year, or early in the year and give us a larger chunk of money t help us out. We also get the occasional grant. The Bock Family Foundation has been very good to us we usually get one or two grants from them each year to help stretch out budget out.”
Tonight’s concert takes place at 7pm. It’s open to the public.
