The Greene County High School cross-country teams completed their regular seasons at Saydel High School in Des Moines Thursday under mild weather conditions. The Rams were fifth on the girls’ side and tenth among boys’ teams. North Polk (Alleman) won the boys’ title with just 33 points while the Rams had 275. On the girls’ side, it was NP with only 25 points while the Rams totaled 132.
Leading the Greene County girls were junior Olivia Hansen, who was seventh, and sophomore Emily Finch, in ninth place. Also, freshman Melanie Doran was 33rd, senior Sunny Mobley 41st, and sophomore Regan Lamoureux 42nd.
For the Greene County boys, Ben Wilkens was 40th, Nick Killion 41st, Ethan Woodruff 60th, Nathan Kennedy 66th, and Jacob Hueser 68th. Woodruff is a senior and the others are sophomores.
With the regular season completed, Coach Kelly Simpson’s runners will prepare for a Class 4A State Qualifying meet in Glenwood on Oct. 22.
