Several Panorama students will travel down the Yellow Brick Road this weekend, playing familiar characters in their rendition of “The Wizard of Oz.”
Senior Annie Kemble will lead the cast as Dorothy Gale. Faculty director Deb Arganbright says if anyone at Panorama has the talent and experience to fill the ruby slippers immortalized by Judy Garland in the 1939 film, it’s Kemble. “She has a lovely singing voice. She has some YouTube videos out there and some different things like that. She’s also performed in local establishments and for some local groups. She’s in our choir and is just a really good singer.”
Additionally, David Roberts will play the role of the Scarecrow. Jake Meinecke will play the Tin Man and Eddy Mortensen will appear as the Cowardly Lion. Plus, Glinda the Good Witch is played by Michelle Mleynek and Destiny Watson is cast as the Wicked Witch of the West.
Shows are at 7 p.m. tonight and Saturday in the high school auditorium. Admission is $7 for adults and $5 for students.
