Guthrie Center’s Midway Motel is under new ownership.

Alicia and Richard Ciesielski, recently moved from the Denver, Colorado area to take ownership of the motel which had been run by the Tharp family since 1972.

Richard, who goes by the nickname of ‘Ski’, says they have plans to improve the motel, which includes revamping some of the rooms. “One of our desires, if we can, is to make 2-3 rooms into bed and breakfast style facilities.”

Ski says business has been phenomenal for them out of the gate, thanks especially to hunting season and several area construction projects.
