West Central Valley basketball players will pay tribute to a fallen West Central Conference competitor when they take the court against Guthrie Center tonight.

Activities Director Tod Broman says Woodward-Granger junior Drew Jacobson collapsed during basketball practice last Wednesday and passed away Monday morning. In remembrance of Jacobson, West Central Valley players will wear green socks tonight. Attendees are asked to wear green, as well. Donations will be collected to assist with the family’s medical bills and funeral costs.

Jacobson’s family has ties to the Stuart area. His father, Russ, is a Stuart-Menlo graduate and grandfather, Earl, is a longtime scoreboard operator for the West Central Valley football team.
