The Bluejay basketball team experienced their first defeat of the season, as they fell to Dallas Center-Grimes by the final score of 67-62. An intense and physical contest went back and forth for much of the game. Perry senior Ryan Rathje beat the halftime buzzer with a long 3 that cut the deficit to 4. The Bluejays would take a 2 point lead into the final quarter, but struggled to keep the Phillies off the offensive boards. Kyle Nevitt would provide a highlight reel play, finishing a Rashon Ivory alley-oop with a two handed dunk. Dallas Center-Grimes however, would respond with a 9-0 run.

Perry was led by Shammond Ivory with 26 points and Kyle Nevitt with 13. Doug Heritage carried the Philly offense with 25 points, while Trey Washington scored 18. Perry drops to 2-1 (1-0) on the year, and will travel to Ballard on Friday night.
