At last night’s game against Guthrie Center, West Central Valley basketball players wore green socks and collected $695 in honor of Drew Jacobson, a Woodward-Granger student athlete who passed away Monday morning.
Activities Director Tod Broman says it’s the second time in a week the Wildcats have extended a helping hand to conference rival reeling in pain. “We’re doing it just to say we care for other schools in the conference. We did the same thing last Friday when we recognized the passing of the Panorama principal. We had the cheerleaders give corsages to their cheerleaders. Our girl starters gave a flower to their starters and we collected money from our fans in the crowd to give as a memorial to the principal.”
Tomorrow’s JV basketball game at Woodward-Granger has been cancelled so that students may attend Jacobson’s funeral.
