State law dictates that all first and second year teachers attend an introduction to teaching class.
Prior to this year, teachers at Panorama had to travel out of the district to attend the course, but this year Teacher Leaders Rachel Downing and Kelly Blomquist say they’ve been able to bring the class to the district. In order to offer the opportunity locally, Blomquist and Downing had to attend a day of curriculum training at the Area Education Agency in Johnston.
Some of the topics covered in the course customized for Panorama teachers include best teaching practices, unit planning, stress management, goal setting and assessment.

A new condominium development is planned for Stuart’s southwest side, in the area of South Adair Street and between South 5th and South 7th streets.
The $5 million investment by Kading Properties would bring market-rate, professionally-managed condominiums to the community. Kading Properties currently owns properties in Des Moines, Winterset, Madrid, Altoona and Osceola. The proposed project has been sent to the City’s bonding attorney. Raccoon Valley Radio will bring you more details on the property as they become official.
