Democrats in Dallas County will gather at one of 16 caucus sites next Monday.
Those who are registered with the party will meet at their designated precinct location and supporters of each candidate will have a chance to make their case before participants gather into groups supporting their favorite candidate. Each Democratic candidate needs to have at least 15 percent of the votes in that precinct to be able to move on to the county convention. Supporters of those who do not meet that minimum requirement will then be able to choose another candidate to stand behind.
Democrats will also conduct business such as selecting their local party leadership and discussing the party’s state platform.
Doors at each caucus location will close at 7pm Monday and registered voters are encouraged to arrive at least 30 to 45 minutes in advance.
A list of Democratic caucus locations can be found in this story on our website.
