The Guthrie County Sheriff’s office will be participating in a statewide initiative to crack down on drunk driving during the St. Patrick’s Day holiday.

Extra law enforcement will be on the roads March 16th-19th to keep motorists safe. The Iowa Governor’s Traffic Safety Bureau reminds drivers that it is much cheaper to plan ahead and pay for a ride home after drinking, instead of paying thousands of dollars for a drunk driving arrest.
