The Iowa Newspaper Association released their all-state selections on Tuesday, and Perry senior guard Shammond Ivory was named to the class 3A First Team. Ivory received second team honors a year ago, but the 6’3 guard elevated his level of play during his senior campaign, scoring 22.2 points per game while shooting nearly 52% from the field, and dishing out 83 assists. Ivory also led the Bluejays to their first state tournament appearance since 1988, and led all Perry scorers with 18 against the Little Dutch.
Joining Ivory on the first team was Will Carius, Pleasant Valley; Joe Wieskamp, Muscatine; Tra’Von Fagan, Cedar Falls; Jordan Bohannon, Linn-Mar; Turner Scott, West Des Moines Valley; Connor McCaffery, Iowa City West; A.J. Green, Cedar Falls; and Connor Murrell, Sioux City East.
