Mike Couch speaking at media dayWild Rose Jefferson General Manager Mike Couch recently resigned from his position.

Spokesperson Jamie Buelt confirmed the resignation, effective Monday. Due to the situation being a personnel issue, she wasn’t allowed to say anything else. Despite Couch stepping down, Buelt adds they are moving on and there are several positive things happening with sell-out shows and the casino being on sound financial footing.

Couch was announced as the general manager of the less-than-one-year-old $40 million facility in Jefferson back in November of 2014. The grand opening of the casino was on August 7, 2015. Couch was also the casino manager for Wild Rose Emmetsburg in 2006, before working as the director of gaming at Gulfstream Park in Hallandale Beach, Florida.

Going forward, Buelt says Chief Operating Officer and President Tom Timmons will be the interim general manager until a new individual is hired. Buelt would like to wish Couch well on his future endeavors.
