The City of Fontanelle is reminding residents about sidewalk ordinances, as they have been an issue at recent City Council meetings.

The ordinances say residents are required to keep sidewalks free of snow, ice, noxious weeds and other hazards or the City may require the homeowner to repair, replace or reconstruct sidewalks.

Plus, only the Council may order construction of new sidewalks and no person shall remove, reconstruct or install a sidewalk unless they’ve obtained a permit from the City. If you have any questions call 641-755-3961.
