Perry’s Academic Cultural Enrichment Services had another successful summer program.

Around 140 students attended the nine-week program that wrapped up August 5th.  Highlights of the summer included special themed event days with a carnival, safety day, talent show, track and field day, outdoor picnic celebration and a world food fair.

The students also took field trips each Friday to traditional places like the Iowa Historical Building, Director Mary Hillman’s farm and garden, the Science Center, Blank Park Zoo and Guthrie County Historical Village.  New adventures this year included the Reiman Garden, Rippey Wind Farm, tour of city offices and KDLS studios and a trip to the Forest Park Museum.

Additionally, P.A.C.E.S. also supported the students who attended the summer tutoring program.
