With school starting back up tomorrow in the Perry Community School District, there are several ways to get to and from class.
School Resource Officer Pat Jans with the Perry Police Department says riding a bicycle, scooter, rollerblades or a skateboard is a great way travel to school. He reminds us that there are some simple things we should do to help keep ourselves and others safe.
“They need to follow the rules and regulations of the vehicular traffic laws that we have. They need to travel on the proper direction lane in which their going, they cannot ride more than two abreast, certainly no clinging to vehicles.”
Of course, helmets and other protective gear is also strongly encouraged. Jans says anyone wanting a full list of rules and regulations can stop by the Perry Police Department or ask him for a copy.
