Greene Co. 4-HThe annual Greene County 4-H awards ceremony will be tomorrow.

Extension 4-H and Youth Coordinator Kayla Hyett says the event will be held outdoors at Deal’s Orchard. The festivities start at 3:30pm with games and a free trip to the corn maze, sponsored by Peoples Trust and Savings Bank. Then at 5pm will be a meal served by the youth development committee. The ceremony will then begin at 6pm.

Several awards will be given to not only 4-H’ers, but supporters of 4-H and volunteers. Hyett points out that the event is free and open to the public. She highly encourages those interested in joining 4-H to attend.

“It is a great way to see what newly enrolled 4-H’ers or if you’re interested in 4-H can do. We’ve got record books and these kids are getting special awards for how much work they put into it. So it’s a great way to see where you can go in five to ten years.”
