Greene County will attempt to end the high school football season with two straight victories. It won’t be easy for the Rams (1-7, 1-5), who won for the first time this season by downing Perry in Jefferson last Friday by a 38-0 final. Coach Dean Lansman’s Rams go to Huxley to face a Ballard team that is 5-3 overall and 3-3 in Class 3A District 2. The Bomber rolled up 504 rushing yards a week ago in upending Gilbert, 49-41, which was just the second loss for the Tigers.
Hunter Wright has rushed the ball for 1,289 yards this season including 287 last week. Quarterback Max Stoltz can run and throw the ball. He’s completed 50 of 87 tosses for 671 yards and 10 touchdowns, so 20% of his completions have ended up in the end zone.
The Rams have improved in the last four games, with a higher scoring average and lower defensive average than in the first four contests. That being said, Greene County has struggled on the road, going 0-4 so far with an average score of 40-8.
Tonght’s game will be broadcast on KG98 and streamed on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com. Coverage begins at 6:30 p.m. with kickoff at 7:30 p.m.
