Greene County girls’ head basketball coach Dean Lyons and assistant Jeff Lamoureux both enter their second seasons at their respective positions and familiarity was a theme at Tuesday’s Media Day from players and the coaches. Having been through this system a year ago seems to have the players comfortable with what they’ll be asked to do, and improvement is a goal. Greene County won just three games a season ago and averaged only 26.6 points per game.
The coach was asked what he expects to use as a measuring stick for improvement. “A measuring stick for me is maybe not so much that game, but the next game after we have a bad game. Do we come back? Do we play better than last year? Do fight a little bit harder or work a little bit harder to get better? I think that’s where you’re going to see the improvement.”
The Rams return five letter winners and open the season on the road in Monroe vs. PCM on Tuesday, Nov. 22. You can hear the action on KG98 and streamed on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com.
