According to the County Auditor’s office, Donald Trump was victorious locally with 56 percent of the votes in the presidential race, Charles Grassley received 71 percent of the vote for the U.S. Senate race.  For U.S. House District 3 race, David Young received 67 percent of the vote.

Taking a look at the State races, Jake Chapman will serve another term in Senate District 10 after receiving 73 percent of the vote, Ralph Watts was victorious for House District 19 with 64 percent and Scott Heldt received 46 percent of the votes in Dallas County for House District 20.

In the District 2 County Supervisors race Mark Hanson was reelected with 67 percent, while Julia Helm and Chad Leonard won the uncontested County Auditor and County Sheriff races respectively.

Additionally, 61 percent of Adel voters cast a ballot in favor of implementing a seven percent hotel and motel tax.

All results are unofficial until canvassed by the Board of Supervisors next Tuesday.
