panoraThe Panora City Council met on Monday in regular session.

The Council approved an adjustment to sewer fees for residents. City Administrator Lisa Grossman says the Council approved a one-time credit on homeowner’s sewer bills for half of the fee, based on the average of the previous two years. She notes that the City had a water leak this past summer in which the water didn’t get into the sewer system, but went into the ground.

The Council also approved, by a three to two vote, the first reading to amend an ordinance to allow golf carts on City streets. Grossman adds that the ordinance could go into effect as early as next February.

The Council then approved the renewal of the urban revitalization plan and are looking to change the tax abatement policy at a future meeting. Finally, the Council approved a resolution for three homeowners to put their assessments from work on done their sidewalks on their property taxes.
