Back in action go both Panorama Panther basketball teams tonight commencing in just their second game of 2017 taking on Des Moines Christian.

The quest for perfection continues on for head coach Dan Druivenga and his Lady Panther squad currently resting with a 10-0 overall record while also unblemished inside the conference. They may not be standing atop the conference in any one statistical category, but never the less Panorama has been a constant, wear you down team averaging 55 points per contest. Their biggest strength may perhaps lie on the defensive side where they have limited opponents to just 34.4 points per game. Offensively Panorama’s main scoring threats come in the form of junior Devyn Kemble and sophomore Bailey Beckman averaging 15.7 and 14.2 points respectively. They will be matched up against a Des Moines Christian squad winners of their last 5 games. The Lady Lions are one of the more efficient field goal shooting teams in the conference sitting number one with 42.6%. They also find strength in the defensive game by forcing teams to defeat them with the three as Des Moines Christian leads the conference with 59 blocks on the year. The Lady Lions are led by senior Mia Rosner averaging 13.1 points per game along with senior Beth Zimmer landing a conference second best 21 shots made from beyond the arc.

On the boys side of things, Panorama looks to make it two straight wins after their defeat of Ogden on Tuesday. The Panthers yield a 3-5 mark overall with a 3-4 conference record. The Panthers have had continued success scoring as of late averaging 55 points per contest throughout the past four games yielding a mark of 3-1 compared to their first four games where they went 0-4 and averaged just 41 points per game. The one to lead the scoring charge for the Panthers will look to be Bryce Halterman averaging just over 16 points per game. On the opposing side, the Panthers have a steep test facing off against undefeated Des Moines Christian. The Lions have been an offensive juggernaut on the season averaging 74 points per contest and efficient in pretty much every category all the way down to free throw shooting where they lead the conference with a mark of 77.3% from the charity stripe. The Lions have three players scoring in double digits starting with senior Ben Juhl leading the team with 22 points per game which is followed up closely by Issac Prewitt with 15.9 points per game and rounded out with senior Austin Mona with 10.8 points per game.

The girls game will get things started tonight at 6:00 pm followed by the boys game at 7;30 from Panorama high school.
