In a rare Friday appearance, the Greene County High School wrestling team is in action tonight in Alleman at North Polk High School. Waukee, Mt. Ayr, and Grinnell are the other teams scheduled for the event, which begins at 5 p.m.

Coach Mark Sawhill’s Rams are coming off three dual meet wins in as many tries on Tuesday night inside the middle school gym in Jefferson vs. Denison-Schleswig, Ft. Dodge St. Edmond, and Belmond-Klemme. After not winning any dual meets last season the Rams are 6-11 so far in 2016-17.

The only two seniors on the team are leading the way. Hunter Ruth is 9-1 at 220 lbs. and Isaiah Yoder is 16-4 at 182 lbs.

Because of being in action tonight, the Rams will have tomorrow off. That’s also a rarity for this time of year and tomorrow will be the last Saturday with no tournament for the Rams until the season is over.
