law enforcement centerGreene County Entity Board held their annual meeting last week.

The Board reviewed recently completed renovations to the law enforcement center. Two furnaces were installed in the jail and main building areas. The new back door, as well as a door frame and relocation of a door in the jail office were installed. A grounding field and concrete replacement along the south and east portions of the building were completed. A heat pump was installed in the equipment room and a new garage door and commercial opener were also installed.

Projects that will be completed this current fiscal year include a single front door for $3,800 plus painting, a new on-demand water heater in the garage for $3,000 and replacing the access door controls to a biometric and/or card reader system for $20,000. Funds for all projects are paid with LEC capital and E-911 funds.

Finally, the Board discussed projects for the next fiscal year. Those projects include an air exchanger for the jail and front office areas and adding true bullet proof glass and framework for the front counter area.
