Greene County School Board 3_22The Greene County School Board met Wednesday in regular session.

Following the canvas of votes, Steve Fisher was officially sworn in to the Board. Then during the consent agenda items, board member Dr. Mark Peters mentioned that he hoped the new head football coach Mitch Moore wasn’t negatively treated from public comments like former coach Dean Lansman before he resigned as the head football coach.

The Board then heard sales pitches from Raccoon Valley Radio, Jefferson Herald, Greene County News Online and the Scranton Journal about advertising options for the district. No action was taken by the Board.

Following a lengthy discussion, the Board passed a 6-1 vote to deny extending liability insurance coverage for nine girls to travel to Boone for soccer in a local church provided van due to the district’s policy of not providing transportation for more than nine individuals including the driver. The one “no” vote was Fisher.
