Jefferson LibraryParents of Greene County youngsters are encouraged to participate in early literacy programs at the Jefferson Public Library children’s department .

Children’s librarian Terry Clark says Lapsit Story Time is for any infant from newborns to 23 months. The free program allows for parent and child interaction through stories, movement, rhymes and songs. The program is on Wednesdays from April 5th through May 10th from 10 to 10:45am, with social time from 10:45 to 11:30am.

Ready Readers Story Time is for kids ages two to six years-old. The one hour program will involve stories with movement while developing a child’s early literacy skills. It will also be on Wednesdays from April 5th through May 10th from 10 to 11am, with a social time to follow from 11 to 11:30am.

No pre-registration is necessary for either program. Call the children’s department for more information at 386-4415.
