Around 12:30 a.m.  Monday the Guthrie County Sheriff’s office, Iowa State Patrol, and the Panora Police Department were investigating a personal injury accident on 160th west of Wink Ave. In the course of their investigation, officers and deputies were forced to move to avoid being hit by a pickup truck that ran through the accident scene according to Chief Deputy Jeremy Bennett.

“We had brought out a State Patrol team to do a technical investigation and had one lane of traffic and then about two hours into that this truck came through without slowing down or obeying directions.”

The vehicle was stopped in the 3200 block of 160th after a short pursuit. The driver was identified as Jeremy Garrity of Dawson. Garrity was arrested for Operating While Intoxicated 3rd and failure to yield to emergency vehicle.

Garrity was transported and booked into the Guthrie County Jail. Bond was set at $500 cash only.
