On paper, the most difficult part of the 2017 high school football schedule is behind the Greene County Rams. Four of the first six opponents are either 6-0 or 5-1, and another is 4-2. The first six Greene County opponents have a combined 27-10 record. Iowa Falls-Alden, the only team the Rams have a win against, is the only team the Rams have played so far with a losing record, but that’s about to change.

Following Friday night’s Homecoming loss to Boone, the Rams last three games are against teams with five combined wins, although that total is a bit misleading. Ballard (Huxley) (2-4, 2-2) forfeited a non-district game they easily won on the scoreboard.

Next up is a trip to Gilbert and the Tigers are also 1-5 and 1-3 in Class 3A District 2, the same as Greene County. Week 8 has the Rams traveling to Perry for the Cowbell Game. The Blue Jays are fresh off a victory at Gilbert and Perry has two wins overall and one in the district. The season finale for the Rams is at home with Ballard.
