
According to the National Center for Education Statistics, more than one of every five students report being bullied. The Panorama School District is hoping to lower that number. The District is currently participating in National Bullying Prevention Week, part of National Bullying Prevention Awareness Month.
On Monday Dr. Josh Strehle with Guthrie County Hospital Family Medicine spoke to elementary students about bullying prevention and self esteem tips. Strehle emphasized healthy lifestyle habits and fielded several questions from the students. The students also enjoyed “Bully Free” blue cake. Participants were also encouraged to wear blue on the first Monday of the month.
The District also utilizes a SafeSchools Alert system. The system allows notifications to be submitted to administration not just for bullying, but any school safety related issue. A link to the SafeSchools Alert system can be found below:
