The final regular season race of the season will take the Adel-Desoto-Minburn Tigers cross country teams to Atlantic this afternoon. The annual Trojan Invitational will feature runners from 23 regional schools including Dallas Center-Grimes, Earlham, Harlan, and Winterset. ADM head cross country coach David Zwank said due to the recent rains in the area; the Trojan Invitational will run at a different location.

“We’re going to run the meet on the (Atlantic) high school grounds.” Zwank said, “I’ve been to the high school (before), and there’s some hills around it. It’s a school built on a hill, so I don’t believe this will be a flat course. There’ll be a lot of winding around because it is a smaller space.”

The Tiger cross country teams latest race came last Thursday Leon Fox Invitational hosted by Perry Community Schools. Both squads finished in fourth place in the team standings. ADM junior Sadie Jurgens was the first runner across the finish line in the varsity girls race, clocking a time of 20:22. Nate Mueller was the Tigers top high school boys finisher, placing third overall at 17:14.

The varsity girls race of the Trojan Invitational will run around 5 p.m., and the boys’ will follow.
