The Bock Family Foundation presented their fall grants Wednesday afternoon, giving out $59,423.50 to 26 different grant recipients.

The presentation was held at the Perry Public Library, and each recipient explained what their grants will be used for. Some of the larger grants awarded included: $2,500 to the Perry Police Department, for a Zetron 9 Channel patch card for radio communications; $2,500 to Mercy Clinics in Perry, for purchase of food and supplies for their Blessing Box; $3,000 to the Partners in Family Development, for a BlockFest travelling exhibit; $4,000 to the Perry Ministerial Association for their Good Samaritan Fund; $5,000 to the Dallas County Conservation Board for the “Let’s Connect” project; and $5,000 to the Perry Area Child Development Center for scholarships.

The biggest grant of the night was given to Perry’s Academic, Cultural, and Enrichment Services (PACES), in the amount of $7,500. The money will go toward their 2017-2018 pre-K through 5th grade program. Paul Burrow, a member of the Bock Family Foundation Board feels each group that received a grant was well-deserving, and he’s proud to be a part of it. “The Bock Foundation supports any number of worthwhile causes. It can range from churches to the conservation board to PACES. It’s a huge spectrum there. Over the years, we have given a million, almost a million-and-three-quarters dollars to various worthy recipients within the county.”
