thanksgivingIn a few days, home-cooked feasts will be enjoyed all over Guthrie County. However, if you’re feeling a little more social this Thanksgiving holiday, there are a couple events the whole community can enjoy. The Guthrie Center United Methodist Church will be hosting a community Thanksgiving dinner tomorrow from 4:30-7pm. The meal is free and open to the public. The meal includes turkey, mashed potatoes, green beans, rolls, and pumpkin pie.

If you’re heading to the northern edge of the county next week, you may also want to take advantage of Whiterock Conservancy’s “Optoutside” event. For Thanksgiving and Black Friday, tent camping and all trail usage will be free. However, no rentals will be available as staff will be off for the Thanksgiving holiday.
