The Christmas spirit arrives in Stuart today with the Community Christmas celebration. The event kicks off with a free-will donation chili and soup lunch starting at 11 am at the First Congregational Church. The celebration will once again delight children with goodie bags, kiddie train rides from noon-1pm, and of course Santa, who arrives at noon. For the adults, the prize drawings return. There is also a new element to this year’s festivities: children will be able to purchase gifts for their moms and dads at the “Kids Free Shopping” section.
The Lions Club is once again hosting today’s event. They also have a Christmas tree in the pocket park downtown. However the club has noticed that someone in the community has been unplugging the tree periodically and has taken a few ornaments off the tree. If you have any information regarding the holiday mischief, contact the Stuart Lions Club.
