With Christmas now in the rear-view mirror, the cities in Dallas County are looking ahead to New Year’s, and many offices will be closed for the holiday.
In Perry, the City offices, water works department, and public library will all be closed on New Year’s Day. The McCreary Community Building will be closed both New Year’s Eve and Day. Also, garbage and recycle routes scheduled for January 1st will instead be picked up on Tuesday, January 2nd. The Tuesday routes will be picked up on Wednesday. The City of Adel has a similar schedule to Perry, with all city offices and the library closed on Monday. Garbage and recycling collection will be delayed one day for the whole City.
In addition to the New Year’s closures, the cities also want to remind citizens about Christmas tree collections. In Perry, trees, evergreen garlands, and wreaths can be disposed of on Wednesday, January 10. Adel will have their citywide tree pickup on two Tuesdays, January 9 and 16. As a reminder, you must remove all decorations from the trees, and they must be placed on the curb by 7 a.m. on the day of pickup. Do not place trees or greenery in disposal bags. Anyone with questions can call Perry City Hall at 515-465-2481, or Adel City Hall at 515-993-4525.
