ADM Tigers

The first half of the high school basketball season is in the books, and the Adel-Desoto-Minburn Tigers girls basketball team (3-7 overall) is leading the state of Iowa in one statistical category. Ten games into their campaign and ADM has grabbed down 145 offensive rebounds, three more than any other team in Class 4A girls basketball. The Tigers are tied with the Washington Demons (3-7 overall) of southeast Iowa for the state lead in total rebounds in the first half with 340, an average of 34 rebounds per contest.

ADM’s rebounding success has been a collective effort with seven girls securing 20 or more rebounds so far this season. Sophomore Delaney Bertman is the Tigers leader in total rebounds with 69, defensive rebounds with 40, and offensive rebounds with 29. Junior Emma Jacobsen registered 42 total rebounds, including 17 offensive. Junior Rachel Hardy has grabbed 39 rebounds, featuring 20 defensive boards. Sophomore Abbie Hlas and junior Anna Kenny each secured 37 total rebounds apiece. Freshman Aniston Smith corralled 25 rebounds, while junior Kristen Baier grabbed 23 boards.

The ADM girls basketball team resumes their season on Friday, January 5, hosting the Bondurant-Farrar Bluejays (4-5 overall) in their first Raccoon River Conference meeting of the season.
