The postseason draw for the West Central Valley boys basketball team (2-17 overall) came out Thursday afternoon. The Iowa High School Athletic Association released the playoff brackets for Class 1A and 2A schools yesterday, and the Wildcats are one of six teams competing in the Class 2A District 12 bracket. West Central Valley starts their postseason schedule on Monday, February 12 in Truro against the Pleasantville Trojans (13-5 overall). The Trojans, a member of the Pride of Iowa Conference, has won 13 of their 18 regular season games this season. Pleasantville comes into tonight’s conference game against Bedford winners of three straight and four of their last five contests overall. The winner of the contest will advance to the semifinal round Thursday, February 15 against the Van Meter Bulldogs in Dallas County.
The Wildcat basketball teams host the Des Moines Christian Lions tonight in their last regular season home game. The varsity girls game tips off at 6 p.m. with the boy’s contest to follow from West Central Valley High School in Stuart.
