The Dallas County Hospital Foundation is once again bringing some Easter cheer, while also raising money for their scholarship program.

This will be the third year the Foundation will be offering Easter Baskets for auction, made by hospital employees and Board of Trustees members. After several other options were explored, Foundation Manager Matt Crooks says the baskets have proven to be a successful means of fundraising. “Each year they’ve tried to come up with a new item that can help raise dollars for our scholarship plan for high school seniors or those going into their final year of a healthcare field in college. And this one seemed to stick pretty well with the participation, with both employees contributing baskets and then the community’s involvement to bid on those items as well. Easter baskets came along two years ago, and it’s been a good turnout.”

Crooks adds, the submissions won’t necessarily all be baskets, some will be Easter-themed items. They will also target specific age ranges, with baskets for infants through two-year-olds, then ages 3-5, 6-8, 9-11, 12-14, and 15-17. There will also be baskets specifically for adults, and even some for pets. The baskets will be on display starting February 26th, and will be shown on a rotating schedule at the hospital, the Perry Public Library, and La Poste until March 26th.
