The free workshop is Wednesday, February 28th from 9am-3:30pm at the Adair County Fairground 4-H and FFA Center in Greenfield. The event includes sessions from: Natural Resource Conservation Service (NRCS) Regional Soil Health Specialist Doug Peterson, Iowa State University Extension and Outreach Field Agronomist Aaron Saeugling, and a panel of local producers. It also includes a free lunch.

NRCS Soil Conservationist Laurel Sellers talks about the local producer panel portion of the workshop. “We have asked a number of landowners that have lots of experience with cover crops. They’re going to talk about their system and some lessons that they learned. Then we’re just going to open it up. A lot of times people have very specific questions. So they’ll be able to ask the experts, the local panel experts, and just learn a lot from each other too.”

While the event is free, registration is required. To hear more on the workshop, listen to today’s Let’s Talk Guthrie County program.
