A reminder that a new fundraiser for the Greene County 4-H Young Leaders is taking place this weekend.

The Hot Chocolate Hustle 5K Fun Run/Walk is this Saturday at the Greene County Fairgrounds, starting at 8am with check-ins, followed by the race at 9am. Cost to participate is $35 with all proceeds to benefit the fairgrounds. Young Leader Kara Reed talks about why they want to host a new fundraiser.

“(4-H and Youth Coordinator) Kayla (Hyett-Willms) our leader, decided that we should do this so we could give back to the fairgrounds. And we do a lot in the summer at the fairgrounds. We partially spend that whole week (for county fair) there so doing stuff around, so we wanted to have some extra money so we could do everything and try to do some new things.”

The Young Leaders are hoping to make the fundraiser an annual event.
