national weather serviceThe National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for the Raccoon Valley Radio primary coverage area.

The advisory is Greene, Guthrie and Dallas counties. It goes into effect overnight and will last throughout the entire day Thursday. We are expected to see up to two-inches of snow and one-tenth of an inch of ice accumulations. Motorists are urged to drive slowly and defensively during Thursday’s morning commute. State, county and city plow crews could be out early Thursday morning clearing roads of snow and ice. Motorists are encouraged to give plenty of room for plow crews to do their jobs.

Slick road conditions may develop throughout the day, with limited visibility a possibility.

Listen to Raccoon Valley Radio as we provide road condition updates, along with any cancellation or postponement information during severe winter weather.
