An Adair man recently pleaded guilty to a felony drug charge.
On April 2nd, Cody Zimmerline pleaded guilty to one count of possession of a controlled substance, his second such offense and an aggravated misdemeanor. As part of the plea deal, the felony charge for possession of contraband in a correctional facility was dropped, as well as a simple misdemeanor for possession of drug paraphernalia.
Zimmerline’s two year prison sentence was suspended and he was given credit for seven days served in jail. He was sentenced to two years probation and was also required to pay $1,078.75 in fines and other court costs. The incident occured in February after an Adair County Jailer found numerous small bags of marijuana and methamphetamine on Zimmerline as he was being booked for a separate charge. This sentence will run concurrently with a previous charge carrying a one-year probation sentence.
