Planning is well underway for one pass-through city in Greene County in preparation for when The Register’s Annual Great Bike Ride Across Iowa (RAGBRAI) arrives on July 23rd.

Dawn Rudolph is on the steering committee and she talks about some of the plans that they want to do when RAGBRAI riders come to Scranton.

“Of course when they leave Coon Rapids and they’re on their way to Scranton we hope to have a welcoming committee on that route to just keep ushering them into Greene County and into Scranton before they head to Jefferson for the evening. We’ll have vendors set up on Main Street, both food and beverage vendors. We’ve been working on the layout and how we should get things set up.”

She adds that they are also planning on doing some fun activities while riders stop in the community before heading to the overnight stop in Jefferson later that evening.
