An annual event kicking off the summer season in Stuart is less than a month away. The first Scoop the Loop of the year will be Saturday, June 2nd from 5-10pm. The free event is open to the public and includes activities for the whole family. In addition to the classic car show, there will be food vendors, live music, and the special “Kids Loop.”
Scoop the Loop Committee Chair Bob Cook talks about June’s theme. “It’s going to be a salute to the strong, supportive history of the Stuart Chamber and service club within this community. Some of my first memories was of the service club, the forerunner to the Chamber, serving watermelon at Good Egg Days. My father was part of that and a lot of business people I respected. The modern Chamber has done significant things for this community.”
Cook says they are adding a special trophy commemorating the Stuart Chamber’s impact on the community. This is the first of three events this year. To hear more from Cook about Scoop the Loop, listen to today’s Let’s Talk Guthrie County program.
