The spring sports season is officially over at Adel-Desoto-Minburn Community Schools. Monday night the No. 8 ADM Tigers girls soccer team played host to the Dallas Center-Grimes Fillies in the Class 2A Region 3 championship game. ADM, who topped DCG 5-0 in their regular season match in April, lost the rematch in sudden death penalty kicks, 2-1. Dallas Center-Grimes made four of their five penalty kicks to ADM’s one. The Tigers tallied the first goal in the 36th minute from freshman Ashlyn Watt. ADM held the advantage until the final 50 seconds when DCG junior Zoey Chumbley scored the equalizer. The loss ends ADM’s season at 16-3 overall with all three losses coming by sudden death penalty kicks. The Tigers lose eight seniors to graduation.
