West Central Valley Wildcat

For the first time in 2018, the West Central Valley Wildcats softball team played a full seven-inning game against a West Central Activities Conference foe. The Wildcats played host to the Ogden Bulldogs Monday for a league contest, falling to the Bulldogs, 9-1. West Central Valley head softball coach Taryn Van Ryswyk told Raccoon Valley Radio via text message that the result is a major accomplishment considering the Wildcats have been almost 10 run-ruled in every contest against Ogden over the past four seasons. West Central Valley lost their previous two conference contests by 10 or more runs against AC/GC (12-2) and Des Moines Christian (15-0) to begin the season. Senior Grace Dupuy drove in the lone West Central Valley run of the evening. The loss drops West Central Valley’s overall record to 2-5 and 0-3 inside the West Central Activities Conference. The Wildcats resume their season today in Urbandale in a league contest against the Des Moines Christian Lions.
