20180615_182233Last weekend, Relay For Life of Guthrie County held their annual event at the Guthrie County Fairgrounds and Event Center. Organizers believe the change in location helped usher in $18,000 for the American Cancer Society. The total raised for this year’s campaign is $59,500, just $500 away from their goal of $60,000 for the year. There were 50 cancer survivors, along with their caregivers.

In addition to donations from the eighteen organized teams, proceeds from the silent auction, pie auction, cake walk, luminaria, and evening concert all went towards the grand total. Senior Community Manager and Guthrie County Spokesperson Kim Durst tells Raccoon Valley Radio they had a great night and she is thankful to the entire committee for their support in making the event a success. They are also already working on plans for the 2019 relay.
