Postseason week has arrived for softball across the state. ACGC will face a familiar opponent in their Regional Quarterfinal match. For the third time this season, the Chargers and the Panorama Panthers will square off for a spot in the Class 2A Region 3 Semifinal.

ACGC held the lead in both regular season bouts, falling 18-12 and 17-7. The Chargers come in to the game having dropped six of the last seven. Though six of those seven have come against teams either currently or recently ranked in the top 15. The lone win was the first in program history for the Chargers against Des Moines Christian.

Head Coach Tim O’Brien doesn’t expect either side to make drastic adjustments heading into their third meeting. “I don’t plan on making any drastic changes. As far as they go, I’m guessing they’re pretty comfortable with who they have playing right now. Pretty evenly matched teams in my opinion. It’ll be fun.”

The Chargers have recorded double-digit hit performances in both games against the Panthers. The winner will face the victor of No. 2 Ranked IKM-Manning and Manson Northwest Webster.
